The Problem
Microsoft Viva Topics customers’ administrators need a way to activate and integrate Topics into the M365 suite in a quick, comprehensive, and simple way.
The Hypothesis
The goal is to create a simplified version of the existing Microsoft Viva Topics homepage which includes modifications such as condensed steps to complete the setup wizard, a modernized look and feel to the interface, and guidance through the first-run-experience to empower tenants to utilize Topics conveniently in their workflow.

Decision
Final decisions + Tradeoffs
In aligning with the Viva Horizontals team, there were many tradeoffs to be made in terms of adherence to the Viva product suite look and feel. This included the appearance of the types of lists that are acceptable, role-gating based on which type of admin role concurrently has access to the homepage, as well as Topics vs Viva branding within certain UI elements.
